DIRECTV: TV & Movie Streaming

Live TV and on-demand viewing

DIRECTV: TV & Movie Streaming brings live television, local news, sports, movies, series, and on-demand titles into one Android app. It suits viewers who want a traditional channel guide with the option to watch on a mobile device, rather than relying only on scheduled broadcasts. The app is published by DIRECTV, LLC and has 10,000,000+ installs.

A guide for finding something to watch

The app combines live channels with an on-demand library, giving users more than one way to reach a program. Its Smart Guide is designed for browsing channels and available titles in one place. Viewers can also use personalized profiles to separate preferences for areas such as sports, news, and children’s programming.

Recording and flexible viewing

A cloud DVR lets users record live sports, news, and series for later viewing. This is useful for households that do not always watch at the scheduled time. DIRECTV also offers genre-focused add-ons, including options for sports and kids’ content, so viewers can choose packages that better match what they watch.

Ratings and audience fit

The app is aimed at people looking for a broad entertainment service rather than a single-purpose movie or television player. A free DIRECTV option is also available with live channels and curated content for viewers who want to explore the service without starting with a subscription. On the catalogue’s rating scale, it holds 4.63 stars from 114,241 reviews.
