Voice Recorder is a Music & Audio app for capturing spoken audio on an Android phone. It suits students recording lectures, people making voice memos, musicians saving practice ideas, and anyone who needs a simple way to keep an audio note. Its controls focus on recording rather than mixing or editing.
The app supports MP3 and OGG output, with sample-rate settings from 8 to 44 kHz. That gives you a way to balance sound detail and storage use for different recordings. A microphone gain control can help adjust input levels when a source is very loud or unusually quiet.
Voice Recorder is built for quick access to the main recording function, with technical options available when you need more control. It is a better fit for lectures, meetings, rehearsals, interviews, and personal reminders than for users looking for a full digital audio workstation.
The app is published by quality apps (recorder, weather, music). It has a listed rating of 4.87 out of 5 from more than 1.25 million reviews, with 50,000,000+ installs. Those figures place it among the more widely used recording tools in this category.
